For the past 3½ years, it has been my privilege to serve as your Ward 1 Councillor for Oak Ridges.

Every decision I make begins with listening to residents, asking tough questions, and working to deliver practical results that protect our neighbourhoods and improve our quality of life.

​

My family has called Oak Ridges home for more than 27 years. My husband, Gilles, and I raised our three children here, and like so many residents, we care deeply about preserving the unique character of this community while planning responsibly for its future.

Before being elected to Council, I spent more than 25 years as a journalist and manager with CTV News, where I learned the importance of asking questions, examining the facts, and holding decision-makers accountable. I later worked as an academic researcher specializing in internet security, disinformation, and social media, and operated my own communications business. I also contributed to projects with Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Those experiences have shaped how I serve as your Councillor. I believe in open, transparent government, careful financial oversight, and making informed decisions that put residents first.

Since being elected, I have worked hard to be accessible and responsive, addressing thousands of resident concerns, championing safer streets, protecting our environment, advocating for responsible growth, and standing up for taxpayers.

​

While I'm proud of what we've accomplished together, I believe there's more to do. I remain committed to listening, acting, and delivering for Oak Ridges.
