As your Councillor, I've worked with residents to address local concerns, bring forward practical solutions and make evidence-based decisions at Council.

 

Below are some of the key results from my first term.

Traffic Safety

Traffic Calming and Road Safety

Making our streets safer for everyone.

  • 35+ traffic-calming measures implemented across Ward 1.

  • Bayview Avenue and Bethesda Sideroad traffic signal delivered.

  • Worked to maintain Council oversight of traffic-calming decisions.

Environmental Protection

Environmental Protection

Protecting our natural spaces for current and future generations.

  • Advanced action on road salt reduction and chloride monitoring.

  • Supported protection of Lake Wilcox, Bond Lake and the Oak Ridges Moraine.

  • Initiated action to assess the cumulative environmental and infrastructure impacts of data centres.

  • Raised questions on major development proposals, including Yonge Street and Elm Grove Avenue.

  • Advocated for development to align with the City's Official Plan.

  • Considered traffic, infrastructure and neighbourhood impacts.

Making careful, evidence-based financial decisions.

  • Questioned spending and reviewed the City and Library budgets.

  • Voted against development charge reductions.

  • Supported long-term financial sustainability and essential services.

Supporting safe, inclusive neighbourhoods.

  • Hosted Community Safety Night, Online Safety Session, and CPR & AED Training 

  • Worked with York Regional Police and regional partners.

  • Advocated for practical solutions to community safety concerns.

Supporting vibrant, connected communities.

  • Supported improvements to parks and recreation facilities.

  • Initiated first-ever Concert in the Park in Oak RIdges.

  • Supported a motion requesting that the Province turn Bond Lake a provincial park.

Strengthening transparency, accountability and public participation.

  • Advanced initiatives to improve transparency and accountability in Council decision-making.

  • Supported the return of in-person Council meetings to encourage public participation.

  • Promoted independent, evidence-based decisions that put residents' interests first.

Keeping residents informed, engaged and heard.

  • Published more than 110 weekly Oak Ridges Wrap Up e-newsletters.

  • Provided regular updates on Council decisions, local issues and community developments.

  • Maintained direct communication with residents through meetings, email and community engagement.

  • Responded to thousands of resident inquiries, questions and concerns.
