MY PRIORITIES FOR WARD 1
Focused on Oak Ridges.
A safe, liveable and connected community for current and future residents.
My priorities are shaped by the concerns residents share with me and the decisions facing Richmond Hill. I will continue to listen, act and deliver practical solutions on the issues that matter most to our community.
These priorities build on the progress made during my first term and provide a clear focus for the next four years: responsible growth, safer neighbourhoods, protecting our natural environment, reliable City services, vibrant community spaces and more transparent, accountable local government.

Responsible Growth and Development
Development must be planned responsibly, align with the City's Official Plan and consider infrastructure capacity, traffic impacts and the character of our neighbourhoods.
I will continue to ask rigorous questions, advocate for complete information and support balanced planning decisions that protect quality of life in Oak Ridges. This includes advocating for a comprehensive assessment of the cumulative impacts of data centres on electricity, water, wastewater, infrastructure costs and local communities.

Responsible Financial Decisions
Residents deserve careful, evidence-based financial decisions that respect taxpayer dollars while protecting the essential City services they rely on.
I will continue to review budgets closely, question spending where warranted and support responsible long-term financial planning for Richmond Hill.

Safer Streets and Neighbourhoods
Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighbourhood, whether walking along local streets, visiting parks or enjoying community spaces. I will continue building on the traffic safety improvements made during my first term, including traffic calming, connected sidewalks and safer school zones.
Community safety also means addressing concerns about speeding, dangerous driving, e-scooters and bikes, public safety and the responsible use of parks and trails. I will continue working with residents, City staff and York Regional Police to identify practical solutions and advocate for safer, more welcoming neighbourhoods.

Protecting Our Environment
Our natural spaces make Oak Ridges special, including Lake Wilcox, Bond Lake and the Oak Ridges Moraine. Protecting them is essential to the health and character of our community.
I will continue to support initiatives such as road salt reduction, environmental monitoring and responsible development that considers long-term environmental impacts.

Vibrant Community Spaces
Parks, recreation facilities and welcoming public spaces bring residents together and enhance quality of life in Oak Ridges.
I will continue to advocate for improvements to parks and recreation facilities, accessible community spaces and opportunities that strengthen our community for residents of all ages.

A More Transparent and Accountable Local Government
Residents deserve a municipal government that is transparent, accountable and open to meaningful public participation.
I will continue to support open and informed decision-making, encourage public participation and keep residents informed about the issues and choices facing our community.
